Drawing Outside

There’s a spot in the garden, behind the outhouses (the old Victorian khazis) where in the afternoon there is a perfect square of shade. I took my drawing block outside and sat by the new shed with coffee in reach and young crows flying over the telegraph lines, under the trails of planes. And I laid down the first few panels of my comic story’s main event, sketching in pencil, happy to be working out of doors, and happy to be moving forward with this.
